SUSTAINABILITY
Science Based Target Initiative (SBTi)
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a corporate climate action organization that enables companies and financial institutions worldwide to play their part in combating the climate crisis. SBTi is a broad UN collaboration that defines a clear path for companies’ contributions to reduction targets in line with the Paris Agreement’s commitment. The SBTi thus sets concrete reduction targets for the decarbonization of the economy towards 2030 and 2050 based on the 1.5°C commitment in the Paris Agreement.
Our commitment
We are proud to have set near-term science-based emissions reduction target, approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The approved target is an important step in our sustainability journey and commitment to a more sustainable food industry
At North Retail ApS we commit to reducing absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 42% by 2030 from a 2023 base year, and to measure and reduce our scope 3 emissions.
In 2023, our scope 1 and 2 emissions were 4.73 tons CO2e, which we have committed to reduce to 2.73 tons CO2e by 2030, meanwhile we will measure and reduce our scope 3 emissions.
SMV: Grønne Kompetencer
The preparation of climate accounts and the connection to SBTi have been made possible by a grant through the company program SMV: Grønne Kompetencer, which is co-financed by the EU.
The grant makes it possible to acquire new green competencies, knowledge and skills among employees, which increases the ability of companies to meet demands and expectations for green transition.
